The first in a new series of short episodes, looser in feel, but the same spirit an energy of the CMP. This is the grown-up version of the CMP – 2016.
Challenge: Try the daily journal page described, inspired by Lynda Barry’s Syllabus: Notes from an Accidental Professor,
paying special attention to the “saw” side of the page.

Thanks for the shoutout to let me know you were podcasting again. I saw it on FB a day or two ago and just went to iTunes to listen. I am thrilled as your podcast is so inspiring! I am also avoiding the audio version of 100 Years of Solitude and your podcast is an excellent reason to do so! ;-)
This was a great episode. I love the familiar snippets of audio (your kids, the gong, your tagline) and was fine with no music and the loose feel. I was also excited about the book you recommended. How do you find such great books??? I am pleased that my library has it. I am going to borrow it and see where it takes me. I journal every day – more prose, but I have lists and drawings, too. I have been working on seeing my world, especially the little things, and the idea of writing down the things that strike me in my journal is a good one.Usually I post photos to Instagram. I always worry about what is missing from my journal in the whole picture of my life.
I also wanted to say that I have a pack of shipping tags in my desk drawer. You inspired me to buy them with your daily bird drawing. I haven’t drawn on them yet as that is not my thing…yet, but they are there and make me think of you. Also, I just ended the Creative Prompt Project on my blog and that was also inspired, in part, by listening to your podcast.
Thank you, Jaye. So glad you had a chance to listen, and that you found a copy of the book. Writing down what we notice in the day helps us really tune in.
