Episode 301 of the CMP, a Creativity Matters Podcast
In this episode of the CMP, some exploration of superstition, adage, and the ways in which they mingle and merge. The superstition talk takes a creative turn in thinking about times what happens when you get caught up in a way of working, a routine, and a mix of variables… and you are afraid to branch out and try something different. What if it is “this” combination of elements that enables you to do what you do? If it works… why change it? I encourage you to think about whether or not you are on a trip with a clear destination or on a journey with no defined end point. If it is the latter, then there is value in being willing to contemplate change, to experiment in ways that are possible, and to explore. You might find something you didn’t realize you wanted or needed. You might even find something that is better and more you than what you were doing. The grass may, in fact, be greener! This philosophical musing on the journey is couched in a long story about one pen, one bottle of ink, and a shifting stack of paper.
